SADDLE UP! ILEAP HORSE RIDING IS BACK!

Our incredibly popular horse-riding sessions are returning, and we can't wait to welcome our riders back to the stables!

Whether you're a complete beginner or already developing your riding skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills and spend time with some wonderful four-legged friends!

LET'S MEET OUR EQUINE FRIENDS!

ILEAP has teamed up with Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) at Lowlands to offer a brilliant after-school riding club.  Our small group of just nine riders will be split into two smaller groups, taking turns to enjoy time riding in the arena.

Our friendly RDA team and volunteers will be there to support and encourage everyone, helping riders feel safe, comfortable and confident.

Beginners will start with their horses being led by volunteers, and as their skills develop, riders can begin learning how to:

  • Steer and control their horse
  • Develop balance and good riding posture
  • Progress towards trotting and, where appropriate, cantering
  • Build confidence and independence around horses

And of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know our lovely equine friends along the way!

MORE THAN JUST HORSE RIDING!

Spending time with animals and enjoying the outdoors can have wonderful benefits for our wellbeing.

Our sessions offer opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence, improve coordination and enjoy the special connection between horse and rider.

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION

Riders must book for the whole term.

At the beginning of each term, all riders will complete a mechanical horse assessment, which helps the RDA team assess their needs and allocate a suitable horse or pony.

Riders will also be weighed and measured at the first session. As these assessments cannot normally be completed later in the term, joining partway through requires prior arrangement.

If you wish to book after the first session, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before making a booking.
