RDA National Training Centre

Our popular horse-riding session is back.

You must book for the whole term as you will be weighed and measured and allocated a horse at the first session, they cannot weigh people after the first session, so if you are looking to book after 13/01/26, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  The first session of each term is a mechanical horse assessment.

ILEAP has teamed up with the Riding for Disabled HQ at Lowlands for an after-school club to build your confidence around our equine friends whilst learning to ride.

The group of 10 is split into three smaller groups, each taking turns to ride in the school.  Beginners will be on guide ropes and each horse has a volunteer to support the participants. As they gain experience and confidence, participants will learn the techniques of steering, trotting and cantering.  Lesson times are 3.45pm, 4.15pm and 4.45pm and last for 30 minutes each.

Research has suggested that spending time with animals in an outdoor environment is beneficial to mental health and wellbeing.
